Stephanie was apparently furious, and both Kim and I speechless.

“Well, I am waiting. Why is our daughter in my memories of our CMNF events? Don’t tell me she is a member!”.

I took the lead.

“She isn’t. She came only once to the events, and as soon as she saw us, she dressed back up ashamed, and she left with her boyfriend. I ran after her and we had a good talk.”

She calmed down a little.

“So, you are telling me that by pure chance, she happened to find our event? The event founded by her mother?”

Kim laughed, but suppressed it right away, apologizing.

“What’s so funny?”, my wife asked.

“Ok”, I took back the conversation. Remember when I told you about your new job?”

“Yes, the online thing”

“Well, you write under multiple pen names and one of those pen names is the fake name you use a founder of our club: Liza. So, Liza is one of your sex columnist and she writes, that is you write, about how a woman can be happier if she just loosens up and let her sexuality express itself.”

“Ok. That actually rings a bell. I mean, Liza was one of my childhood friends and I wanted to be more like her”, she replied, still very confused.

“Yeah, that’s exactly it! So remember how I said that our daughter helped you on the blog? She is also an avid reader and read an article that Liza wrote explaining her CMNF club and somehow, Kelly liked the idea and her boyfriend and her decided to try it. It’s only on location that they realized it was us behind it.”

“But not before undressing?”

“We were upstairs preparing some food in the kitchen when she arrived. She had not met Kim yet and Kim didn’t know her either, so like any new member, Kim welcomed them, helped her get at ease, and it’s only when we went downstairs with the food that we met, face to face with them”.

Stephanie was slowly calming down.

“Didn’t we have a talk with them at a cafe nearby?”

“YES! I said! Your memories are really coming back! Wow! You got dressed and ran outside too, and saw me talking to them. We went to a nearby cafe and perhaps talked for 2 or 3 hours about well, a lot of things.”

“Like what? I don’t have clear words yet”

“Well, sexuality, boundaries, fantasies, respect. We talked to her for the first time about the mental health issues in your family, about your medication. We opened about Kim being our girlfriend and how sexuality can be a very good thing in an adult’s life despite what society is saying.”

“So she knows almost everything about us?”, she seemed worried again. “Even I don’t know everything yet!”

Kim tried to reassure her. “First, everything will eventually come back, but second, you can always read Liza’s blog! You were pretty honest in it about what was happening. If the videos you made aren’t enough, if our words aren’t enough, perhaps these blogs will stir more memories.”

“What did I blog about?”

“Almost everything”, I replied. “And it won awards for it! From the comments, it apparently helped a lot of women, not just Kelly. It’s probably the number one feature on the site.”

“Yeah, of a site I know nothing about and that I now need to work on. Now that’s genius.”

“Don’t worry, you left plenty of videos and it’s not like you were the only writer. You are mainly the editor and you know how to do that: correct typos, edit sentences so they are more punchy, choose headlines and summaries that grab attention, pick an appropriate image”

“Yeah”, she cheered up. “I know how to do that!”

Kim added. “Except that now, you don’t have to do layout as much, you don’t have to limit the length of good articles as much, you don’t have to group articles together”.

“Interesting. And Kelly helps me?”

“Yes, and I do”, added Kim. “We both have our own articles in the site. She writes section giving tips to young women, and I cover the LGBT community and fashion design.”

“Fashion design?”, she asked.

“Yeah, I am a fashion designer! I know, ironic isn’t it? But I guess it’s topical since I mainly design men’s clothes, so it’s not like I could wear most of my designs.”

“But I do!”, I replied.

“Ok, so is there any other surprises waiting for me?”

Kim and I looked at each other, and I wondered.

“Well, Kelly has a few. Her boyfriend and her made a few sexual explorations, but it doesn’t affect us directly, we never crossed her path though to be honest, we kind of coordinate to ensure that.”

Stephanie nodded in understanding.

Kim asked me “She knows about some of the sexual stuff as our club, right?”

I confirmed. “But not all of the details…”

Stephanie said “Oh?” in an inquisitive tone.

“Yeah, but they are just that, details. Moments where one, two or all three of us had sex of one sort or another with other members. It wqs meaningless, not like they were in an actual realtionship with one of us. In most cases, if THOSE memories don’t come back, you won’t be missing much!”

Kim laughed. “Indeed. I can confirm..”

“So what do we do now?”, asked Stephanie.

“It’s up to you, but we’ll need to eat lunch soon, and eventually, you too will need to get dressed for Kelly’s visit tonight. I’m sure she’s fill you in with her own life story, but I don’t think there’s anything as shocking as Kim, the surrendered wives thing or the club”

Stephanie looked puzzled. “Shocking is one way to put it, but I don’t think I am shocked anymore. Overhelmed perhaps, but I think I am fine with most of it.”

Good I thought.
